Ask Your Questions about Growing and Selling Fraser Fir Christmas Trees Here!!!
Cool Springs Nursery first began planting trees in 1981. We have learned a lot over the last twenty-some years and we love helping people grow and sell quality Fraser Fir Christmas trees. We have had experience with a retail tree lot for many years but don’t currently run one. We sell trees wholesale and have a Choose and Cut retail business now. We sell to nursery centers and other retailers as well as to various organizations for fundraisers.

What technique do you use when shearing the Fraser Fir. Is there a certain way or do you just shear to keep its shape? I seem to always have the split “v” at the ends and not a single side branch coming straight out. Thanks for any help possible.
Your trees look great!

Thanks for the question Jeff. Shear for shape and density until the 5 foot height and don’t worry about v’s they give you the qualities you want. Then you can lighten up on shearing and you will get a lot more straight branches. An uncut branch will go straight if you cut it, it will v or go straight depending on how deep the cut is.
