Cool Springs Nursery Choose & Cut is located on Highway 421 at 244 Brownwood Road, about 5 miles outside of Boone, NC.

Smith family members run the Choose and Cut during the season.  The 2009 season will run from Saturday, 21 November through Sunday, 20 December. Hours are 10 AM to 5 PM on weekends. Weekday hours are 11 AM to 5 PM.

Bring your family out for a holiday memory and pick your own Christmas tree out in the field. You and your family can cut it down, or we can do it for you. Then we bail it and help you put it on the roof of your car.

CHOOSE & CUT Directions:

Cool Springs Nursery is the first Choose & Cut Farm that you come to as you enter the High Country from the Piedmont, on Highway 421.

Coming from Winston - Salem or Charlotte (I-77): Head to the mountains on Hwy. 421N towards Boone. About 5 miles outside of Boone, shortly after you pass under the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will come to a traffic light. From there, continue 1 mile to Brownwood Road. Turn right onto Brownwwod and you will see the Cool Springs Nursery parking area on the right. Check-in with our staff and get started on your adventure.

Coming through or from Boone:(10 minutes or 5 miles) Take Hwy 421S toward Winston-Salem. From the last light coing out of Boone, (Food Lion is on your left at this intersection), go 4.1 miles. Turn left on Brownwood Road. You can see the lot from Hwy. 421. Proceed to the parking area on the right and check-in.
